While not overly complext this is a great expression of a dry, smokey whiskey with hints of peat. Given the price we highly recommend trying this out if you are new to peated whiskey but if peated whiskies are your thing, then this will disappointment. The peat is very subtle and the smokey flavours are not as intense as you would find in a Laphroaig or Ardbeg, and it just doesn't have the complexity or depth of flavour that you would expect from a more expensive peated whiskey. However, if you are looking for a more affordable option to explore peated whiskies then this is a good choice and will pair well with a range of foods and occasions.

This whiskey pairs beautifully with:
Great dram for a group of friends around a fire where there is lots of luaghter and nothing is taken too seriously
This is a great introduction to peated whiskies for those looking to explore this style without breaking the bank. Make sure you have some smoked salmon or aged chedder to really bring out the best in this dram.
