This is a supercharged version of the standard 10-year, offering more intensity and complexity. It has a nice blance of malt, sweet, fruit, and subtle smoke. We found it opened up in the glass, but lacked a bit of refinement and length in the finish. Overall, though, it was very enjoyable and might be a nice stepping stone if exploring cask stength or peat whiskies for the first time.

This whiskey pairs beautifully with:
After dinner with close friends, or over a fruit or chocolate dessert.
If you like the 10 year old but want something with a bit more punch and intensity, or looking to expand into a peaty whiskey without taking on the Islay's, then this is a great choice.
