Flavour Profile
Review
A hearty but very approachable whisky that is suited to those that like salt flavours and mild peat. There are warm spicy notes that compliment the salty maritime flavours with warm spice and hints of vanilla. We loved the Talisker 57 North but this 10 year old is a great all rounder and a classic dram that is hard to beat at this price point. An icon and worth returning to again and again. It picked up Gold at the World Whiskies Awards back in 2018, which feels about right for the batches from that era. However, it is worth noting that recent batches are somewhat heavier, with more woody notes missing the floral citrus maritime character of earlier years. It is still an enjoyable whisky, but not quite as good as it once was.

Occasion
This whisky is a great food companion - ideal for a BBQ by the sea or a relaxed dinner with friends. Suited to a wide range of foods, especially anything smoked, this makes a great companion and will not disappoint. Works well in Summer or Winter months but requires a Seasoned palate.

If you have found Islay whiskies too intense but want to explore a gentle peated whisky with a maritime character, then this is a great choice. A good all rounder that works well with food or on its own.
