Review

We were surprised about the intense spice and long finish of this dram which we enjoyed but may not be for everyone. Distinct flavours dominate and suit those looking for something that stands out from the crowd. The flavours and intensities are definitely a notch down on a typical Islay dram, and while not quite in the same league this is one to try if you are looking for a more approachable Islay whisky with a strong spicy finish. The maritime influence is subtle and reminds us a little of the Talisker 10 year, but adds a nice touch to the overall profile. We can agree this is a deserving Double Gold winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, holding its own against much bigger names.
