Review

Would benefit from a higher ABV like its cousin the A'Bunadh as it is lacking a bit of a punch however the flavour profile is rich and rewarding to those that enjoy fruit and spice driven whisky. This is not a bad drop however Mike found the finish a little unbalanced when compared to the Kinglake Popeye which felt more rich, round and rewarding, that said this will reward drinkers moving into the Seasoned bracket with a stronger and more complex flavour profile. It picked up a Silver at the World Whiskies Awards in 2024 as well.

Occasion

Great as a winter warmer shared with friends or alongside a special meal with the ones you love. Would also work with a quiet night in by the fire with a good book.

Right for you?

If you enjoy sweet, spicy strong whisky that won't break the budget then this is a great go to. Slightly more complex flavours will reward those entry level drinkers looking for the next challenge.
