Review

As a straight dram, this did not meet our expectations. We found the palate to be very unbalanced with a strong vanilla hit and a hot, herby lemon finish that was not to our tastes. While this is a very popular whiskey and may appeal to many, we would not recommend it for those looking for a quality single malt to be had straight. It did pick up Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021, so it obviously has its fans. We're just not among them. However, for those looking to enjoy it in cocktails, it performs well for the relatively cheap price.
