The noticeable influence of the muscat barrels gives this whisky a depth of rich sweet fruit that is somewhat unique. After primary maturation in French and American oak ex-wine casks, it's finished in barrels that have held Morris' own fortified muscat, and you can really taste it. The nose opens with figs, dates and hints of dark chocolate, while the palate balances malt with dried fruit and hints of spice. The finish brings deep woody notes, peppery vanilla and molasses with a lovely creamy mouth feel. The sweetness is balanced with the wood and malt, resulting in a very satisfying dram that had us going back for more. The 46% ABV is a nice touch that helps drive home the flavours, and gives it a bit more punch than its Signature sibling. That, along with the muscat influence, is why we rated it just that little bit higher. It's picked up plenty of awards too, including Gold and Category Winner at the World Whiskies Awards in 2026 and back-to-back Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2023 and 2024. Overall we found the muscat influence lifted this up to be an excellent drop.

Official website(opens in a new tab)A great winter warmer to enjoy after dinner in front of the fire with a loved one or good mates. It works beautifully with a sticky date pudding, Christmas cake or some dark chocolate, or alongside a cheese board with blue cheese and vintage cheddar. Being approachable enough for those new to whisky but with enough depth to keep a seasoned drinker interested, it also makes a great gift for anyone looking for something new and a little different.
If you like muscat, then this one's a no-brainer. If you enjoyed the Morris Signature and are looking for a little more depth and intensity, this is the natural next step. At around $130 it's still very reasonably priced for an award-winning single malt, and it would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys sweet, rich whiskies with dried fruit and spice.
